The Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant Project aims to build four units of Russian VVER-1200 (AES-2006) pressurized water reactors (PWR) with a capacity of 1200 MW each. The selected pressurized water reactors are the most common types of reactors worldwide.

It specified The Authority Requirements for First-Class Jobs for Dabaa Nuclear Jobs, where acceptance into first-class jobs in engineering specializations is required:
- Registration with the Engineers Syndicate.
- Experience of not less than 10 years in engineering fields related to the job.
- Spending a period of not less than 4 years in the immediately lower job grade if the applicant is an employee of the state administrative apparatus, or the job equivalent to the lower job grade if the applicant is one of those who holds a job in one of the special cadres.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Passing the tests required to fill the job.
- The ability to lead, direct, develop plans and follow up on their implementation.
The Nuclear Power Plants Authority for Electricity Generation has identified the specializations required to fill first-class jobs in science specializations according to Announcement No. 1 of 2022 as follows:.
- Director of the Department of Radioactive Decontamination Services is required, with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Physics
The Russian company "Rosatom" is implementing the Dabaa nuclear power project to generate electricity, and will operate advanced Russian nuclear reactors VVER-1200 of the third generation that meets the highest safety standards.
Moscow and Cairo signed an agreement in 2015 under which Russia will build a nuclear power plant in Egypt, with Russia providing a loan to cover the construction costs.
The Dabaa area chosen to build the Egyptian peaceful nuclear reactor is located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea in Matrouh Governorate, 2 km away from the international road. The project will be built at kilometer 135 on the coastal "Matrouh-Alexandria" road. The project will be implemented on an area of 45 square kilometers, with a length of 15 kilometers on the coast and a depth of 5 kilometers.
According to the documents, the station is of the third generation, which is based on reducing the time and cost of construction. The reactor of this generation also has a simple and reliable design, resistance to operator error (human factor), and has a high use of installed capacity and its service life of up to 80 years, in addition to protection from accidents.
