The Ministry of Housing, Utilities and New Urban Communities witnessed remarkable activity during the current year 2022. Especially with regard to providing suitable housing for citizens, as 18,000 housing units were offered at the beginning of the year, specifically in March, for middle-income citizens / Sakan Misr, Dar Misr and Janna.
The Social Housing Fund, Utilities and New Urban Communities also launched supplementary methods for citizens who were not lucky enough to book in the offering last October.
Residential apartments in Dar Misr
The Ministry of Housing, Utilities and New Urban Communities has worked during the past period to implement the assignments of President Abdel Fattah and El-Sisi.
The necessity of accommodating all applicants from middle-income citizens to obtain ready-to-deliver residential units, offered for reservation through the Social Housing Fund and Real Estate Finance Support, within the projects (Sakan Misr, Dar Misr, Janna). All this especially after the number of applicants increased by several times the number of residential units offered.
Offering 20,000 housing units by the Ministry of Social Housing
The Ministry of Housing, Utilities and New Urban Communities, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority, is preparing to offer new housing units within the Sakan Misr, Dar Misr and Janna projects, which is the second offering of middle and distinguished housing during the current year 2025.
Sources at the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and New Urban Communities confirmed in special statements. It is scheduled to open the reservation of the units expected to be offered in all cities, amounting to 20,000 units, during the coming week.
The Ministry of Housing, Utilities and New Urban Communities confirmed that Sakan Misr, Dar Misr and Janna units will be offered in new cities, including New Cairo, New Mansoura, 6th of October City, New October, October Gardens, Obour and Shorouk. The fully finished residential units will be offered for immediate delivery, noting that the allocation is based on the priority of reservation.
Opening the door to reservation for housing apartments
In this context, Eng. Hatem Mahmoud Hassan, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority, announced the opening of reservations for middle-income housing apartments (Sakan Misr - Dar Misr - Janna) next week.
Social Housing
As for the social housing axis, the Social Housing Fund and Real Estate Finance Support offered to citizens applying for a housing unit within the presidential initiative "Housing for All Egyptians" for low- and middle-income people.
The announcement of offering housing units within the presidential initiative "Housing for All Egyptians 3" witnessed a great turnout from low- and middle-income citizens, as the total number of conditions booklets that were withdrawn from post offices until yesterday amounted to about 253.4 thousand booklets, with 113,498 conditions booklets for units ready for delivery, and 139,920 conditions booklets for units to be delivered within 18 months. The selling prices of the units offered within the new announcement range between 194 and 310 thousand pounds, while the value of the reservation deposit ranges between 15 and 22 thousand pounds. New income limits for social housing apartments
This offering witnessed the implementation of the new income limits approved by the Cabinet, which came to keep pace with the increase in the current wage rate and prices, and with the aim of enabling citizens to obtain subsidized housing units. The maximum limit for the low-income category became 6 thousand pounds per month for a single person, and 8 thousand pounds per month for a family, while the maximum limit for the middle-income category became 13 thousand pounds per month for a single person, and 18 thousand pounds per month for a family.
The Ministry of Housing's activity did not stop at providing apartments and housing units only, but the Minister of Housing, Dr. Asim Al-Jazzar, announced the offering of a number of distinguished and most distinguished lands for individuals in various new cities.
Land Offering for Individuals
The Ministry of Housing, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority, has offered a number of lands at different levels, the most distinguished, distinguished and medium, with the aim of providing housing for every citizen. The locations of the 305 new plots of land currently offered are concentrated in 143 plots of land in the most distinguished land axis in the cities of New Cairo, 15th of May, Badr, Assiut and New Mansoura, and 104 plots of land in the distinguished land axis in Sadat, Salhia and New Borg El Arab, in addition to 58 plots of land in the medium land axis in New Nubaria and Tenth.
Engineer Hatem Mahmoud Hassan, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority, said that the start of reservations is from January 15 for distinguished, medium or most distinguished lands, noting that all applications for land plots are through the website only and advance in priority of reservation.
The Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority explained, during his statements, that the payment of the value of the land plots is also through the website, and he pointed out that priority is given to the most distinguished land plots for those who pay in dollars from abroad and not the priority of reservation, and reservations can be made in dollars from within the country, but the dollar account must have been deposited for 60 days to purchase the most distinguished land plots on the authority's website.
He added that the New Urban Communities Authority will soon offer land allocations to foreign investors, but the full value of the land must be paid in dollars, noting that there is more than one city in which foreign investment is taking place and is taking place in Upper Egypt cities.
Residential apartments in the Beit Al Watan project
Preparations are also underway to offer new residential land plots soon in the "Beit Al Watan" project for Egyptians abroad, in distinguished places in 6 new cities, which are (New Cairo - 6th of October - New Damietta - Badr - Obour - New Obour).
The “Homeland Home” project for Egyptians abroad aims to connect Egyptians abroad with their homeland and fulfill their desire to own and build their own homes. The project has achieved great success and has been well received by Egyptians abroad since the ministry launched it in early 2012. Eight phases of the project have been offered so far, including thousands of residential plots for individuals, thousands of residential units, and plots of land with various service activities.
